Fabergé unveils its centenary Egg

We've decided to present you with a specific article about some of the most iconic jewellery pieces in the World, which just launched an absolutely remarkable edition. They represent much more than just an impressive décor jewellery piece with an egg shape, so it’s obvious we’re talking about the iconic Fabergé Eggs.

Commemorating 100 years since Peter Carl Fabergé passed away. Handcrafted from an astonishing 10 kg of 18k yellow gold, this unique creation receives inspiration from the first-ever Imperial egg, the 1885 Hen Egg, as well as the 1887 Third Imperial Egg.

The Centenary Egg is gold fluting, a developed technique for which Peter Carl Fabergé was renowned, and which featured frequently in his initial works of decorative art. The egg is also set with spectacular responsibly sourced Gemfields Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds, providing it a contemporary and colourful twist and complementing the white diamonds which carefully line its circumference.

Light and shadow

The centenary egg, while undoubtedly inspired by the historical past, exudes modern-day decorative features. The artful fluting naturally brings out the poetic beauty of the gold, occasioning curved surfaces and mixed levels that naturally generate contrasting light and shadow.

The unique design for this object includes a magnificent ‘sunbeam's pattern, which engenders a feeling of energy and happiness that quite literally radiates from within.

We hereby invite you to watch behind the scenes the craftspeople putting the finishing touches to their most recent majestic creation.
