Larforma celebrates its 40th anniversary

Savoir faire and the Pursue of excellence.

It all started with the passion of a 14-year old child, with the will to learn upholstery. Starting from a young age soon Manuel Ferreira learned the craft with expertise and persistence. In 1978 opened his workshop into a history of success by creating Larforma just two years after, the result of shared work, the collaboration, and the commitment of every single person in the company towards the clients.

By the 1990s, Manuel established itself as the benchmark for high-end Upholstery in the Portuguese world of interior decoration thanks to unique expertise, attention to detail, and the so-called 'traditional' upholstery method corresponds to the technique used since the beginning of the 19th century, for example, the hand-sewn horsehair filling on a stilted spring base.

It all started with the passion of a 14-year old child, with the will to learn upholstery. Starting from a young age soon Manuel Ferreira learned the craft with expertise and persistence, In 1978 opened his workshop into a history of success by creating Larforma just two years after, the result of shared work, the collaboration, and commitment of every single person in the company towards the clients.

Due to the growing scale of the business Manuel, had to develop new facilities passing from a humble warehouse into large facilities where today still operates. Huge investment in new and bigger facilities, an industrial enterprise. Commitment, talent, and late working hours guaranteed the success to pass the company to his family. The next step was taken by Hugo and Pedro Ferreira, working closely with their father; between the 2005s and 2015s, they made the already nationally acknowledged brand expand to an international brand.

By working closely with its clients, the company carried out superb projects around the world and learned to always go further than conventional techniques to find innovative solutions and thus give life to the most original ideas. Projects like Maison du Caviar, Palace Hôtel Royal - Évian-Les-Bains, Hôtel Vernet, Tewkesbury Park Hotel, are among the long-standing collaborations of Larforma. They gave rise to many successes: a private Maison in Lake Como, a chalet in the Swiss Alps, an apartment on 5th Avenue, and many more.

Over the 40 years, Larforma has been able to accept challenges with the certainty that any change has a positive element and that continuous improvement is possible, even within traditional know-how, thus perpetuating its art.

Today, We celebrate our 40th anniversary, building on our past experiences but resolutely turned towards the future. As techniques evolve, our values remain intact: quality, transmission, and expertise of excellence in the service of creativity.

Thank you for these 40 years!
