Walnut

Prized for its rich, dark colour, fine grain, and excellent workability. Walnut is strong, durable, and has a smooth texture, a refined choice for high-end cabinetry and furniture. It works, with stains or clear finishes enhancing its natural beauty.

Strong, hard, and durable. It has a fine, tight grain and a pale cream to pinkish-brown colour, giving chairs a smooth, clean appearance. Beech is also known for its flexibility and shock resistance, allowing for curved designs. It takes stains and finishes well, offering versatility in chair-making while providing long-lasting strength.

Beech

Pine wood sofa frame. From Larforma upholstery craftsmanship.

Pine

Commonly used for sofa frames due to its lightweight nature, elasticity, and availability. While it's a softwood and not as hard as oak or walnut, pine is still strong enough for structural use in furniture. Easy to work with, making it a popular choice for mass-produced or custom furniture.

The Stains

At Larforma, we choose real wood veneer because it allows us to create unique, high-quality products while using less wood than solid pieces, making it a more sustainable option. Veneer maximizes the use of each tree by covering larger surfaces with minimal material, reducing waste. This helps conserve valuable natural resources while still offering the beauty and warmth of real wood.

Wood care advices:

  • For regular cleaning, use a soft, slightly damp cloth to gently wipe the surface. Follow up by buffing with a dry, lint-free cloth to ensure all moisture is removed.

  • Avoid using furniture sprays with silicone, and always clean in the direction of the wood grain. Promptly wipe up any spills with a damp cloth.

  • Refrain from using harsh or abrasive cleaners, acidic detergents, bleach, or rough materials like sandpaper or steel wool.

  • If your furniture gets scratched, stained, chipped, or otherwise damaged, it's best to consult a professional for proper restoration.
